Our History & Culture

Lunchtimes birth-name was "Treats", a Canadian bakery that specialized in muffins. As a muffin store, Treats failed in short order. A delicious product, but not enough demand in the States.

In 1997, Howard Davis, a specialty foods broker and great friend introduced John Grossi to the challenge. At the time, the business was closed and in the final stage of being defaulted to the landlord. John went to work and quickly solidified an agreement with the landlord and Treats International. The next step was to reinvent Treats, expanding the menu to create fresh, unique products that fit the demands of its special location. John used his life long food background and business experience to accomplish just that. He called on the many associates and contacts he developed over the years. These people all contributed important ingredients to the Lunchtime recipe for success. They brought culinary skill, creativity, personality, ego, eccentricity, craziness and many other traits that enabled Lunchtime to develop into what it is today.

Lunchtime is a special place to go for lunch. A Customer can choose one of our chef’s daily specials, a delicious homemade soup. You can also choose one of our signature salads or sandwiches, like the 'Tony Sacco' (When John was 16 and had hair Tony was his first business partner), made fresh to order with top quality ingredients. This is all done, before your eyes, by a well trained person that really cares about your food order and patronage. This all happens faster than fast food! John is very proud of his business and staff.
